Good afternoon,

One of our Division 1 swimmers from last summer, Peter Morch, has been short-listed as a nominee for the best junior individual athlete at the 10th Annual Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards being held Friday, February 13 2015 at the Coast Bastion Hotel.

Here is his Bio:

Peter Morch, age 9, had a fantastic year swimming for the Nanaimo White Rapids. Throughout the summer he was almost unbeatable at all of the swim meets on the Island. In the process, he broke numerous meet records and set four individual club records, some of which had been standing for over 30 years. Peter was fortunate to be part of an amazing relay team which also broke two club records. His swimming talent also led to a first place finish in his age division at the Qualicum Beach Triathlon.

Where Peter really shone in 2014 was at the BC Summer Swimming Provincials in Kamloops. He earned a total of six gold medals – four gold in his individual events as well as two gold with his club and regional relay teams.

A strong personal drive, determination, amazing coaching and stiff competition within the Nanaimo White Rapids and on the Island has created a remarkable swimmer with a fantastic future ahead of him.

Good luck to Peter at the Awards night!
